We must serve the society selflessly and egolessly – Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji

Panipat (VSK). RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji said that the thought and philosophy of the Bharatiya thinkers have been for the welfare of the world, which not only has a message for the entire humanity but also for all living beings.
Sanatan Dharma, he said, is defined by the concepts of rebirth and fruits of actions, which means whatever action we do, we get their results accordingly. Only in human birth one can do actions according to one’s will and achieve the goals. In this, an action done selflessly keeping in mind human welfare is considered most virtuous.
The Sarsanghchalak said this while laying the foundation stone of Seva Sadhana and Gram Vikas Kendra built by the Shri Madhav Jan Seva Trust in Pattikalyana village, near Samalakha in Haryana. Dr. Bhagwat Ji, along with Jain muni Upadhayaya Gupti Sagar Ji, performed “bhumi pooja” by planting a sappling.
Dr. Mohan Bhagtwat Ji said the Sanatan culture is our torchbearer as the Hindu way of life is for the welfare of all. The aphorism like “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” and “Vasudhev Kutumbakam” unite the entire humanity. Going ahead on this path without any pride we should serve selflessly.
The prosperous well-to-do people should come forward to help the deprived and the needy ones. It would help spread equality in the society and help remove discrimination. Serving others helps to reduce the sins of past births and to gain virtue. It also helps to attain salvation, so service to humanity should be performed with a feeling of oneness without ego or pride.
He said the idea of setting up a seva sadhana and gram vikas centre in Pattikalyana village has been there for quite some time, but today it has formally started. It reflects a resolve of the society to serve the society and in this right from the menial worker up to the senior RSS adhikari have contributed. He said service is what you do with a feeling for others. In the western terms, it is called service for which one has to repay in some form. But in the Bharatiya context, the service is to offer, and not to take anything in return. We should not have ego while doing it for somebody. Instead, we should think that whatever we have with us is taken from here and whatever we give back was never ours.
Sarsanghchalak Ji said when we have to attain salvation we go to the Himalayas. But when we serve selflessly then our hearts touch Himalayan heights and we do not need to go anywhere for salvation. The people who are engaged in serving others, should do some meditation, whereas those who meditate should get into serving others. The entire world is us and every living being on it is our own. We have not taken birth just to earn. In fact, we should give back something. We should earn with 100 hands and distribute it back with 1000 hands. In the western countries, biographies of the rich are written, while in Bharat we write about donors like Bhamashah. In the west life and character of the powerful rulers is written about, whereas in Bharat we write about Bhagwan Ram, Shri Kirshna, Maharana Pratap and Chatrapati Shivaji who led the society. They said our life is not just to be spent, but to give back to the society. So whatever we have learnt, whatever we have earned and whatever we have received should be used to serve the society.
The RSS swayamsevaks have been running more than 1.75 lakh service activities. The swayamsewaks raise projects for service activities and on similar lines, Seva Sadhana Kendra in Pattikalyana village would become a big project.
Besides Union minister of state Rao Inderjit, Gyanananadji Maharaj, Ravi Shahji Maharaj, Gannaur ashram, Swami Molar Nath Madlauda Ashram and Shri Madhav Jan Seva Trust president Pawan Jindal were also present on the occasion
